Chinese Commerce Delegation visits Shelbyville KY

Shelbyville KY ChineseMembers of the Chinese Commerce Delegation had meetings with various business leaders in Louisville Kentucky, and while they were in KY, they wanted to visit the horse farms in Shelbyville. On September 20, 2007, they went to Undulata Farm and Edward “Hoppy” Bennett gave an oral history on the American Saddlebred horse, and did a riding demonstration around the arena.

The Shelby County Tourism Director, Charlie Kramer, and his granddaughter gave gifts to the Chinese delegates when they were leaving.

As China continues to become more of a world power financially, they could very well start investing in horse farms in Kentucky and the Shelbyville area.  It could provide a real economic boon to the area, and buoy up some of the local real estate values that have flattened/declined for the larger horse farms.

And given the relative low value of the US Dollar relative to other currencies, including the Chinese Yen, this could provide an additional catalyst or motivation to acquire assets and real estate in the United States.
