Fasig Tipton Improves Horse Auction House
Posted on September 25, 2008
The Fasig-Tipton horse auction house, is getting some new improvements to its facility. The recently acquired business was purchased by Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum in April, and is now getting an impressive new entrance for its Newtown Paddocks. Construction on the centerpiece, a 40′ x 100′ stone “racetrack” (oval-shaped planter), is being featured as the focal point for the project. Approximately 400 tons of Kentucky limestone/sandstone is being utilized in the project.
The project is somewhat under a time crunch, as it needs to be completed by the next big thoroughbred sale to be held at the facility beginning on October 20. The construction manager doesn’t anticipate any issues with meeting the time requirements for the project.
