Louisville KY Events - Ironman Triathlon August 26 2007

The Ironman triathlon is taking place in Louisville KY today. It includes a 2.4 mile swim in the Ohio river, bike 112 miles all the way up to the LaGrange KY area around L’Esprit, and run on foot 26.2 miles through Louisville to the finish line at Fourth Street Live.
2100 athletes are competing in the event for $50,000 in prize money along with a qualification for the Ironman World Championship in Kona Hawaii.
Ford is the sponsor of the event and even built an Ironman edition Explorer at the Louisville Assembly Plant on Fern Valley Road.
