Rain Today In Shelbyville KY

We finally got some rain today in Shelbyville KY. Instead of a nice gentle shower, it was a real gully washer. The extremely hard ground wasn’t able to absorb the rainfall fast enough, so it created some flooding in some areas.
But at least we got some rain! Hopefully now the grass/crops will stop turning brown, and get back to a nice shade of green again. 
We’re something on the order of 6″ or 7″ short on rain this year - which is a lot for the Louisville Kentucky metropolitan area.
Hot weather is expected to continue unfortunately, so I imagine things will dry up pretty fast.
We have 30-40% chance for showers this coming weekend - hopefully we’ll get some.
